Kushner established his firm after leaving the White House and eventually landed the $2 billion Saudi investment, millions of which he intends to invest in Israeli start-ups.

People familiar with the fund's investment plan told The Wall Street Journal that the fund has already selected two Israeli firms to invest in.

The grandson of Holocaust survivors, Kushner and his siblings, including sisters Nicole and Dara, grew up in an Orthodox household in Livingston, New Jersey.
