IDF soldiers destroyed an underground tunnel hundreds of meters long near Khan Yunis during operations to clear the area east of the Yellow Line in the southern Gaza Strip, the military said on Sunday.

The operation was conducted by the IDF's 188th Brigade, under the command of the 143rd Gaza Division, alongside the military's elite Yahalom Unit of the Combat Engineering Corps.

Three living quarters were also found in the tunnel, and dozens of weapons were discovered and confiscated by the IDF.

The weapons found included approximately 45 grenades and 35 cartridges, ten Kalashnikov-type rifles, RPG rockets and launchers, about 10 explosives, and six vests.

IDF strikes Hezbollah engineering vehicles in southern Lebanon

Earlier on Sunday, the IDF struck several engineering vehicles belonging to Hezbollah in the area of Mazra‘at Aboudiyeh in southern Lebanon, the military said in a statement.

"The vehicles were struck while being used by Hezbollah terrorists to reestablish terror infrastructure sites in the area," according to the statement.

Hezbollah's attempt to reestablish its infrastructure is a "violation of the ceasefire understandings between Israel and Lebanon," the statement concluded.

In a separate statement, the IDF said it struck a Hezbollah terrorist in the Al-Dweir area of southern Lebanon.

Albanese slams IDF weekend strikes in Gaza

UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese condemned the IDF's weekend strikes in Gaza in a Sunday post on X/Twitter.

"After killing 500+ people in about 3 months, Israel- armed and supported by the US - continues its genocide in Gaza undisturbed," Albanese's post read. "Don't let it become the new normal. Stand up against genocide!"

According to the IDF, the strikes came in response to ceasefire violations by Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad on Friday.

The targets of the operation were a weapons storage facility, a weapons manufacturing site, and two launch sites belonging to Hamas in the central Gaza Strip, the IDF said on Saturday.
