The 54-year-old designer gained her elevated status thanks to two things: Her super cool approach to style and a strong desire to protect the environment through non-harmful materials and "slow" luxury production. In the coming weeks, Stella McCartney is expected to recreate some of H&M’s biggest hits, as she turns her unique vision into a mass market frenzy for the second time in her career – by collaborating with the brand that successfully helped put fast fashion on the fashionistas’ map.
The joint collection will launch on May 7, about twenty years after the first collaboration between H&M and the esteemed designer and activist. The collection continues the legacy and reflects the highlights of 25 years of activity alongside fashion houses, while distilling McCartney’s vision into a complete collection.
A connection between past and present and a combination of contemporary pieces identified with Stella such as oversized shirts, trench coats with dramatic shoulders and excellent tailoring alongside iconic pieces from McCartney’s archive. Among them – bold prints, stone-embellished designs and slogan tops, all ranging in price from NIS 169–NIS 1,199.
Among the key items we can find knitted dresses and tops with the iconic Falabella chain around the neck and a long white dress with a cape that creates a circular movement of the fabric. The collection also includes sparkling evening pieces, matching sets, denim as well as dresses and tops made of mesh fabric with a bold cherry print from the archive.
An additional touch of nostalgia comes with a short white T-shirt with studs and the inscription "Rock Royalty" by McCartney – originally worn by Liv Tyler at the 1999 Met Gala. Like it, the long-sleeved crystal dress of Kate Moss and the blue-gray satin halter dress modeled by Naomi Campbell on the Chloé runway in 1998, when McCartney served as the creative director of the French fashion house – only this time the wider public will be able to get it in a tank top version.
