Chocolate Brownie Sandwich, Ben & Jerry’s

The local-global ice cream brand expands one of its most successful spin-offs with a new launch, right on time for our never-ending summer.

Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Brownie Sandwich arrives in freezers as a triple pack (80 ml per unit, NIS 24.90 per box) and as single units, joining the family that already includes the cookie dough version. The format, of course, is two chocolate chip cookies holding chocolate-flavored cream ice cream with brownie chunks. The execution, also of course, is wonderfully textured and wonderfully chocolatey, and the size is just right to satisfy an evening sweet craving.

Soldiers Chocolate, Elite

It’s probably nostalgia, and certainly the sounds of war, but the new-old launch from the Israeli candy brand managed to break through our wall of cynicism.

The comeback of the “soldiers” chocolate is the result of a collaboration between Elite and Strauss with the Friends of the IDF Disabled Veterans Organization, with the goal of raising awareness and support for the rehabilitation of wounded IDF soldiers, men and women alike. Accordingly, part of the sales proceeds will be donated to the organization, and a QR code on the packages will also encourage more active involvement.

As a product, it’s a pleasant greeting from the more innocent 1950s of Israel, and a digital campaign that sends you to listen to the podcast “Heroes Tell Their Stories” reinforces that feeling. Just like then, also now.

The Israeli snack powerhouse brings back to the shelves an edition that barely had time to cool off outside the cycle—and rightly so.

Osem’s Hot & Sour Flat Pretzels (300 grams) return to our lives ahead of the theoretically expected winter (again in a limited edition, of course) with those same bright yellow-green shades, and with the same focus on the younger audience’s taste buds. It works hard, it works efficiently, and it doesn’t stop working until the bag is finished.
