Arnon Nampa, 41, was a prominent figure during the unprecedented youth-led democracy movement protests in Bangkok in 2020 that openly called for the monarchy to be reformed.

French tourists reportedly chased them into the restroom, forced the door open, and demanded they turn over the contents of their pockets.

"The perpetrator has been captured," Deputy Superintendent Wichian Soboon told Reuters, adding that two people - a student and a teacher - were wounded in the incident.

The one-meter-tall sapling was found alongside citrus propagation materials during an anti-smuggling operation done in collaboration with inspectors from the Ben-Gurion Airport.
