Following Likud’s primaries, the party’s new list faces criticism for reflecting Netanyahu’s leadership style and prioritizing political survival rather than the national interest.

Netanyahu has already found the scapegoat who will be placed on the altar, the person everyone currently hates and is ready to roast themselves: Pinchas Idan.

The findings come from a poll conducted for Maariv by Lazar Research, headed by Dr. Menachem Lazar, in cooperation with the Panel4All online respondents panel.

Senior Likud officials have urged Netanyahu to consider reserving a spot for Haddad on the Likud list in order to prevent him from joining Winter and creating another force to Likud's right.

Nir Hefetz predicted Netanyahu could reserve a Likud slot for Yair, while arguing the party's new slate will do little to attract undecided voters.

When inquired by KAN, Ohana's office responded: "It is unclear to us what is new about the Knesset speaker's consistent position that the Knesset will not meekly accept being trampled."

Later, she called on Netanyahu to intervene in the composition of the party list, criticizing the lack of women on the primary list.

Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar party emerged as the largest party with 24 seats following Monday's contentious Likud primary, with the opposition bloc leading the coalition 57 seats to 52.

Likud officials fear that a new right-wing party led by Brig.-Gen. (res.) Ofer Winter could split the bloc’s vote, particularly if it fails to cross the electoral threshold.

In Netanyahu’s Likud, reaching the top of the list is only half the challenge. The other half is remaining there without appearing too eager to reach for the crown.
