Politicians who care about intermarriage should focus on a lot more than the choices of two individuals

Several organizations have expressed concern with the number of Jewish citizens marrying outside the rabbinate.

The organization’s marriage service took root after many couples were upset by the overly-bureaucratic and unwelcoming approach of local rabbinates to couples seeking to get married.

Close to 2,000 people participated in the event's approximately 30 workshops, lectures, panel discussions and lessons, which is a project of Panim, a network of 60 pluralistic Judaism organizations.

A provision for civil marriage doesn't exist in Israeli law, with marriage and divorce possible only through the established religious institutions.
