Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blocked President Isaac Herzog from attending the launch of US President Donald Trump’s Gazan Board of Peace at the World Economic Forum in Davos, sources told Axios.

As Israel heads into its first post–Oct. 7 election, incendiary rhetoric could be captured, weaponized abroad, and deepen Israel’s legitimacy crisis amid a widening cognitive war.

To place Ankara and Doha – two of the most vocal enablers of Hamas – in charge of shepherding Gaza toward peace is akin to appointing the tobacco lobby to run the World Health Organization.

Trump added that he threatened Iran with US airstrikes if the Islamic Republic's regime carried out hangings of protesters and political dissidents as planned, and Tehran backed down as a result.

Within days of October 7th, he was drafting what would become the reconstruction plan now attached to US President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace” framework for Gaza.

"I am pleased to announce the Rafah crossing will open next week in both directions. For Palestinians in Gaza, Rafah is more than a gate. It is a lifeline and symbol of opportunity," Shaath said.

“Once this board is completely formed, we can do pretty much whatever we want to do. And we’ll do it in conjunction with the United Nations,” Trump said in Switzerland.

The return of fallen hostages is not a secondary issue to be postponed; it is a core obligation. Israel and the US should not allow themselves to be trapped in that pattern again.

Israeli officials say staying out of Trump’s Board of Peace was never an option, citing influence over decisions, frustration with the UN, and concerns over Gaza and Hamas.
