Lior and Matan are enthusiastic young men, and Buchman’s Diner adds something new to the restaurant scene on Emek Refaim. I think that with some changes to the food, they will succeed.

The café is open all day, and contrary to what you might think from the name, it serves many other items besides bagels, such as make-it-yourself salads and filled buns.

The restaurant is yet another storefront along Independence Square, but the size and the simple decor belie the quality of this specialty restaurant.

The pastries are outstanding, with the brioche dough like a cloud and not too sweet. Most pastries are NIS 26 and a decent size but not huge, so you don’t have to feel too guilty about eating them.
