One of Brigitte Bardot's final animal welfare initiatives has reached Israel, with a nationwide campaign opposing the live shipment of calves and lambs.

A collision involving a civilian bus and a vehicle carrying Syrian security forces killed at least 35 people and injured 30 on the Deir al-Zor-to-Damascus road.

The bus was headed to national capital Islamabad from provincial capital Quetta. There were 48 passengers on board, the agency said.

March's cyberattack on the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority was carried out by a group called "Abadil of Minab," Israeli information security firm Gambit found.

Egged and Transport Ministry will convert two more cities to zero-emission public transport by end-2026. By year-end, Egged will operate 900 electric buses in Israel, including 200 intercity buses.

"I have 41 years of experience and still don’t understand how this accident happened," said Yaron Sheff, a United Hatzalah paramedic who responded to the scene.

Egged will replace Eilat's 40 buses and 20 of Kiryat Shmona's, bringing the total of buses operated by the company in Israel to 900.

The two people killed were identified by Magen David Adom as a 15-year-old boy and a 20-year-old woman.

Among those injured were an 11-year-old girl in critical condition, a woman and a man in serious condition, one man in moderate condition, and seven people in light condition.

The notice instructed passengers to board through the rear door and sit at the back of the bus “in order to allow the students to travel separately.”
