Afghanistan and Pakistan agree to restart peace talks in Istanbul, aiming to prevent further border clashes after deadly violence this month.

Afghan troops opened fire on Pakistani border posts late Saturday, with the country's ministry of defense saying this was in retaliation for Pakistani airstrikes in Afghanistan earlier in the week.

While not directly addressing the Bagram issue, the Taliban and allies made it clear that they would not tolerate foreign military forces in Afghanistan.
