The commander of the West Bank terror cell, who was arrested earlier this month after attempting to launch rockets at Israel, admitted in an interrogation that his goal was to stop the war in Gaza by firing at Tel Aviv, N12 News reported on Tuesday.
"I tried to stop the war," N12 cited the cell commander as saying.
"A few days after the war began, I decided to launch missiles at Tel Aviv in order to stop the war," he reportedly admitted in interrogation. "I started producing explosives and conducting experiments, and I raised money from my brother and a friend."
According to N12, the five-member cell has since been interrogated by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and the police.
The cell commander was arrested along with other terrorists who were involved by Israeli security forces while operating a weapons manufacturing workshop in Ramallah.
Rockets and explosives found in the facility
The weapons manufacturing workshop where the cell commander was arrested contained dozens of rockets, explosives, and explosive materials.
The facility was also linked to the manufacturing and attempted launch of rockets.
A video subsequently put out by the IDF showed Israeli forces detonating explosives to neutralize the rockets and other materials in the compound.
