Footage of a suspect cocking a firearm directly over his infant son’s head emerged as part of an investigation that led to indictments of two individuals on weapons charges from the northern Israeli-Arab city of Arrabe, the Israel Police announced on Thursday.

According to the police, late last month, Northern District officers raided a compound in Arrabe and arrested the two suspects, aged 25 and 26. During a search of the premises, police found a bag with a pistol and ammunition.

During a subsequent investigation, authorities uncovered videos of the suspects using the pistol. In one video, which the police have released to the public, one of the suspects’ infant son is seen lying on a bed. Next to him on the bed is the pistol obtained by the police, a loaded magazine, and a scattering of bullets.

The footage also shows one of the suspects holding the gun over the child, and at one point, placing the infant’s hand on the weapon.

In another video published by the police, the same suspect is shown firing the weapon in an outdoor area.

The police revealed that, during the investigation, it was discovered that the other suspect arrested during the raid of the compound was the individual who had initially lent the pistol to the first suspect.

At the time of their arrest, the two were meeting so that the first suspect could return it “to its owner,” the Israel Police reported.

In recent days, the investigation concluded, and the Haifa District Prosecutor’s Office filed indictments against the suspects in the Haifa District Court.

Along with the indictments were requests to continue detaining the suspects until the conclusion of the legal proceedings and to confiscate the two vehicles in which the suspects had allegedly transported the weapon, the police said.

“Since the beginning of the year, more than 990 weapons have been seized in the Northern District, and armed cells have been thwarted,” the police added.
