Since the start of Operation Roaring Lion, there has been a significant rise in demand for emergency equipment and home preparedness, with more and more Israelis stocking up in advance in anticipation of possible extended stays in protected spaces.

Retailers report a noticeable increase in purchases of products such as tents, mattresses, flashlights, and specialized equipment for shelters and reinforced rooms. In addition, there has been a rise in the purchase of thermal clothing and jackets – items that were previously considered less relevant for this type of preparedness.

According to Hanoch Lupo, CEO of the Rikushet Network, this reflects a deep shift in public behavior. Since the start of Operation Roaring Lion, we have identified a clear and sharp trend of increased demand for emergency gear and home preparedness. According to our data from stores and our online platform, there has been about a 20% rise in purchases of tents, mattresses, flashlights, and specialized equipment for shelters and reinforced rooms, as well as high-quality thermal clothing and jackets. The public in Israel is showing greater awareness of the importance of preparing for emergencies, moving from reactive behavior to planned and proactive management.”

He notes that this is not only an increase in the quantity of purchases but also a change in their nature: "Beyond the quantitative increase, there is also a shift in the type of purchases. More families are seeking solutions that allow for extended and comfortable stays in protected spaces, including quality sleeping gear, reliable lighting, and smart storage solutions. From our perspective, this indicates that Israeli consumers understand that proper preparedness is an integral part of everyday life.”

The network points out that, in line with this trend, they are preparing for continued demand: “At Rikushet, we are adjusting accordingly, increasing inventory and tailoring our product range to provide a wide, accessible, and immediate response for everyone who wants to be ready, not just for a moment, but for an extended period.” The data reflects a broader phenomenon – a shift in the perception of civilian security, where personal and family preparedness becomes an inseparable part of everyday life in Israel.
