There are recipes you simply can’t stop making – and this is one of them. Homemade chickpea patties with the aroma of an eastern market and an addictive taste that’s ready in minutes. A light, nutritious and colorful dish that manages to impress on any table, even midweek.

Ingredients:

For the patties

• A package of drained canned chickpeas

• 2 onions, thinly sliced

• A package of chopped cilantro

• Chopped green chili (to your taste)

• 1 teaspoon ground coriander seeds

• 1 teaspoon cumin

• 1 teaspoon salt

• 2 tablespoons flour

• Half a cup of water

Preparation:

1. Mash the chickpeas with a fork into a not-smooth puree, add all the remaining ingredients and mix well.

2. Form patties the size of a ping-pong ball and flatten them.

3. Fry well on all sides until nicely browned.

4. Serve over a plate of tahini and drizzle olive oil and a bit of paprika on top.
