Members of the Netanyahu-led coalition and the opposition reacted to Bennett and Lapid's announcement that the two will form a joint list for the 2026 Knesset elections.

The left-wing Democrats Party is composed of the Labor and Meretz parties, which merged in 2024. Dabush is expected to run for one of the reserved Meretz slots on the party’s list.

The October Council, which organized the protest at Habima Square in Tel Aviv, noted that this year would mark "the third Remembrance Day without answers."

Opposition leaders accused Netanyahu of failing to meet war goals after the Iran ceasefire, while some backed talks with Lebanon on Hezbollah disarmament.

Lapid had previously expressed his full backing for Netanyahu at the beginning of the war, but wrote earlier in the day in a statement that he could no longer hold this stance.

Golan warned against continuing a military campaign without working on a diplomatic solution, explaining that Hezbollah is currently “at a low point, militarily, politically, and economically.”
