Starlink, the satellite internet firm led by billionaire Elon Musk, will now be able to provide internet services nationwide, which ranks among the countries with the slowest internet speeds.

Starlink is starting to offer satellite internet service across Israel, with the option to register directly through the company’s website.

The company launched a Hebrew-language website for preorders in early August and began providing the services in the country on Thursday. 

Field tests have begun under an end-2024 deal with SpaceX's commercial broadband constellation allowing Elon Musk's company to launch direct-to-cell services in the war-torn country.

The trail of lights seen above Beersheba on Monday was not caused by rockets from Gaza or missiles from Iran or Yemen as some residents feared, but rather satellites from Elon Musk's Starlink.
