The suspect, Lachao Damsash, was in contact with Iranian intelligence elements and carried out a range of tasks at their direction in exchange for payment.

Vitaly Zvyagnitsev, a 30-year-old Russian citizen who arrived in Israel with a foreign worker permit, was arrested in early December 2025 on suspicion of maintaining contact with Iranian operatives.

Iranian media claimed authorities arrested a Swedish citizen who was spying for Israel during the June war, with a verdict in the case expected within days.

Vahid Razavi, a member of the Vadi family, told the dissident media site that Rouzbeh Vadi was detained a year and a half ago after a dispute at work.

The charges ranged from engaging in political activities and violating the Official Secret Act in a way detrimental to safety and state interest to misuse of authority and resources.

The case joins others in a disturbing pattern seen since October 7, namely, Iranian intelligence operatives attempting to recruit Israelis through Telegram and other encrypted platforms.
