The private American competitor to Europe's Arianespace has emerged as a key contender to plug a temporary gap alongside Japan and India, but final decisions depend on a still unresolved timetable.

Eytan Stibbe, who was conducting 35 experiments as part of the Rakia mission, was originally supposed to end his 10-day stay in space last Wednesday but bad weather conditions forced a delay.

Researchers conducting the first Israeli biomedical research on the International Space Station believe that Stibbe’s vision will not deteriorate during his short space flight.

This was not the first time SpaceX has launched a classified spy satellite and despite the mysterious nature of the NROL-85, what is far more noteworthy is the rocket itself.
