Israel continues to seek a peaceful resolution with its Palestinian neighbors, facing hurdles from Hamas and Hizbullah's aggressive stance.

The EU holds that this resolution must be based on the pre-1967 lines with east Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state.

"To my delight, the project materialized – slowly but surely – and turned into one of the greatest economic achievements of the peace agreement."

Both Jews and Muslims must understand that if we can’t live together, there is a chance neither will survive.

My conclusion is that demilitarization is a myth. In any territory evacuated by Israel, it is neither possible to enforce nor reasonable to expect that.

Does this mean that the Israeli Iron Wall has been cracked? Nothing of the sort.

Of course, this situation is far from ideal. But it’s better than being nine miles wide.

Trust is fundamental to generating the conditions for Israelis and Palestinians to have the better future they deserve.

The two sides have since been discussing a peace deal in which they would agree on borders, settle differences over the enclave, and unfreeze relations.
