If the left-wing bloc led by Golan will take mandates from Yesh Atid and National Unity, then the battle between Golan, Gantz, and Lapid is just beginning.

Golan, called for "widespread civil disobedience" in order to put heavy pressure on Netanyahu and his government such as "We shouldn't join the [IDF] reserves, until the government changes".

The Labor Party's primary race saw Yair Golan elected leader with 95.15% of the vote, pledging to unite left-wing parties and strengthen Israeli democracy.

Hermoni called the move a "windfall for the terrorist organizations that wish upon our demise."

“It was a real concern for me that police, over the last seven months, displayed a total lack of seriousness when it came to protecting the Jewish community,” she was cited as saying by the JC. 

It has been downhill from there, with six of the seven major polls taken since April 15 showing that his party would not pass the 3.25% election threshold needed to make it into the Knesset.

Other than Golan, the only other person to announce her candidacy is current Labor MK Efrat Rayten.

Part of the current lack of leadership lies in the fact that the goals for the war against Hamas are unachievable, Golan argued.
