NASA releases images of comet 3I/ATLAS, rejects alien spacecraft 'rumors'

While the comet's precise point of origin remains unclear, the NASA scientists said they believe it hails from a solar system older than our own, which formed about 4.5 billion years ago.

This image of interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS was captured by the Hubble Space Telescope’s Wide Field Camera, July 21, 2025.
This is an artist's impression of a runaway supermassive black hole that was ejected from its host galaxy as a result of a tussle between it and two other black holes. As the black hole plows through intergalactic space it compresses gas and forms stars (Illustrative).

A rogue star could cast Earth into darkness – and that would be the end of humanity

A new study outlines a rare but chilling scenario: A wandering star from the depths of the galaxy could disrupt the orbits of the planets, fling Earth out of the solar system – and end humanity.
