Jenni Asher is set to become first ordained Black woman cantor
Jenni Asher will become the first Black American woman ordained as a cantor — and one of only two Black cantors in the country – when she graduates next year.
Jenni Asher works at Hamakom, a Conservative synagogue in Los Angeles, while studying at the Academy for Jewish Religion California to become a cantor.
