ASUS 16V, the new laptop, is a gaming machine you can take anywhere – it weighs only 1.95 kg, but it is equipped with hardware that makes it a portable performance powerhouse for gaming and design. The 16V may be strong on the inside, but on the outside, it looks like an elegant laptop, with a chassis made of aluminum and plastic, and a sleek matte black finish – not flashy, but definitely pleasing to the eye. The price range for the series is between NIS 4,601 and NIS 6,799, which feels more than reasonable once you start working and playing with it.

The only real drawbacks I encountered, and even then not a major one considering the price, are the screen and speakers. The V16 comes with a 16-inch display in a 16:10 ratio, WUXGA 1920×1200 resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and a maximum brightness of about 300 nits. The screen works great for indoor use or in the shade, but its brightness isn’t ideal for use in direct sunlight or very bright conditions. The built-in sound is decent: The downward-facing speakers deliver solid highs and mids suitable for conversations and basic viewing, but the bass is weak. For that reason, it’s recommended to use gaming headphones or external speakers for action movies with heavy sound effects.

Now to the good parts – and there are plenty. The highlight is, of course, the graphics card and processor, which give the laptop its power. The device comes with an Intel Core i7 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series GPU for laptops, making creative tasks and gaming adventures much easier. The model I reviewed came with NVIDIA’s RTX 4050, which allows you to enjoy modern games in 1080p resolution at medium-to-high settings.

The performance may not be at the absolute top tier, but it definitely delivers a smooth experience. The laptop includes two memory slots that support up to 32 GB of DDR5 5600 MHz RAM, providing uncompromising smooth performance for demanding tasks and ensuring seamless multitasking and responsiveness under heavy workloads in applications, gaming, and creative projects.

The V16 also comes with an ErgoSense keyboard with 1.7 mm key travel. The keyboard is very comfortable for typing, and the touchpad — measuring 150×99 mm — is highly responsive and supports smart gestures. The enlarged touchpad, now 40% bigger, ensures smoother control and comfort. Its surface is coated with a hydrophobic layer and PVD finish to prevent fingerprints and improve durability, enhancing your gaming experience with effortless gestures. What stands out most is the backlit keyboard in Turbo Blue, which helps you see the keys clearly while adding a modern touch.

In addition, the transparent neon-highlighted WASD and arrow keys enhance both speed and accuracy during gameplay, while also looking great. Another strong advantage of this laptop is its 63Wh high-capacity battery, which ensures uninterrupted gaming and productivity, allowing you to stay in control and get through your day without limitations.

The ASUS V16 also offers an extensive set of ports that cover nearly every daily need. On the left side, you’ll find an HDMI 2.1 port, a standard USB-A port, and an Ethernet input for fast data transfer. On the right side, there are two USB-A 3.2 ports and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. In addition, the left side also features a USB-C port with Power Delivery support, which allows charging or connecting to external displays.
