Two days after the draw in which he won the top prize in the Double Lotto track amounting to NIS 64 million, the happy winner arrived at the Mifal Hapayis headquarters to complete the prize collection process. Despite the magnitude of the news, he still found it difficult to process the event that transformed his life.
According to him, it all started during an apparently routine moment when he scanned the lottery ticket on the Mifal Hapayis application. Within seconds, the imaginary winning amount appeared on the screen, and he could barely believe his eyes. "I rubbed my eyes several times," he said with a smile, "and then I immediately photographed the phone screen to make sure I wasn't mistaken."
Despite the immense excitement, the winner decided to keep the secret to himself, at least for a few more hours. When the time came to go to the Mifal Hapayis headquarters, he asked his wife to join him but did not disclose the real reason. He told her it was an important meeting and even asked her to wish him luck.
The two arrived near the Mifal Hapayis building and parked their vehicle a short distance away. While his wife waited near the car, convinced it was a routine meeting, the winner went inside to complete the necessary process. Only after finishing the visit and returning to the car, as he planned, would he reveal the joyful news to her.
'The most important thing is to be happy'
Behind the winning story lies a moving personal story as well: Over the past year, the winner lost his father, and in his memory, he decided to purchase a Torah scroll.
He shared that he does not participate in every draw, but rather makes a habit of purchasing a ticket only when the prize amounts reach peak levels. "I buy excitement for NIS 66," he said. He selects the numbers completely at random, and this time, that random choice led him to an extraordinary win.
The winner, who stated that he regularly donates and assists those in need, already knows how his charitable activities will be impacted by the new sum entering his account. One of the first decisions he made immediately after the discovery was to significantly increase the scope of donations and assistance he provides to others.
Despite the dramatic financial change and the new possibilities open before him, he chose to summarize the defining moment with a simple and personal message: "The most important thing is to be happy, whether you have money or whether you don't have money."
