Swedish officers stopped a stolen Norwegian public bus in southwestern Sweden and found a 14-year-old from Norway behind the wheel after a journey of roughly 200 kilometers, the Norwegian police announced Tuesday. He set off alone after taking the vehicle from Vestby, about 40 kilometers south of Oslo. The teenager was detained near Gothenburg, the Swedish police said.

No motiive disclosed

Alarm was raised when a bus park in the Vestby commune reported a missing vehicle. The tracking system indicated the bus had crossed the border and was located in the Swedish city of Uddevalla. Swedish authorities were alerted and brought the vehicle to a halt with the teenager at the controls, the Norwegian police said.

No motive for the teenager’s actions has been disclosed. Local media previously reported the same youth engaged in a similar act and returned a bus after three hours of driving. The case was closed due to his young age, the police said.
