Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana said on Wednesday, at The Jerusalem Post Washington Conference that Israel’s voice must remain central on the world stage, warning that the October 7 atrocities revealed the intentions of radical regimes and stressing that Israel strengthens US security.

He thanked The Jerusalem Post for “connecting Israel to the world” and said, “If you want to know their aims, listen to their words: ‘Death to Israel. Death to America.’”

The speaker argued that “strong allies do not drain American strength, they multiply it,” citing Israeli technologies that protect US troops and help defend the American homeland.

He added that decisive leadership is essential to deter instability. “Decisive leadership does not provoke chaos, it prevents it.”

Conference context and public diplomacy push

The Washington gathering convened December 9–10 for high-level US–Israel discussions on strategy, security, and innovation.

Ohana’s call to confront misinformation comes as Israel expands public diplomacy. Earlier this week, ministers approved a NIS 2.35b hasbara allocation for 2026 to bolster global outreach and digital campaigns.

Ohana has made repeated trips to Washington to emphasize bipartisan ties and Israel’s strategic value to the United States.
