The Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Office (PMO) conveyed to coalition partners in the past day that Netanyahu has no plans to "dismantle the bloc for [Benny] Gantz," Israeli public broadcaster KAN reported on Sunday.

According to the report, coalition members are concerned that Gantz's entry to the government will allow Netanyahu to move forward on a hostage deal and the end of the war in the Gaza Strip, which would prompt hard-line members of Netanyahu's coalition, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, to leave the bloc.

On Saturday, Gantz called on Netanyahu, Opposition Leader MK Yair Lapid, and Yisrael Beytenu chairman MK Avigdor Liberman to form a temporary “government of redemption for the hostages” for a period of six months.

Gantz said that the temporary government should focus on two primary goals: securing the release of hostages held by Hamas and passing the controversial haredi (ultra-Orthodox) draft law.

The party leader also said that elections should be scheduled following the completion of these objectives.
