The IDF shot at a terrorist who crossed the Yellow Line, marking IDF-controlled territory in Gaza, who "posed an immediate threat" to soldiers from the 7th Brigade operating in southern Gaza, the military said Thursday evening.
The soldiers opened fire "to remove the threat," the military noted.
"A hit was identified," the military added, though it remains unclear if the terrorist was killed or not.

The IDF confirmed on Thursday that it killed the commander of Hamas's Eastern Rafah Battalion, along with his deputy and inner circle, in a Sunday strike.
In a Thursday release, the IDF stated that Israeli troops killed Muhammad Jawad Muhammad al-Bawab, commander of Hamas’ Eastern Rafah Battalion, who helped execute the October 7 Massacre and attacked IDF troops in Gaza through the course of the Israel-Hamas War.
Three additional terrorists, including al-Bawab's deputy, died alongside him.
