World Emunah, a leading advocate for women’s leadership and representation across all areas of Israeli life, continues its 90th anniversary celebrations with a special event honoring Women in the Arts. The event will be held on July 10 at the newly opened National Campus for Archaeology in Jerusalem.

Building on the success of its Women’s Leadership Conference, held on International Women’s Day, this upcoming gathering will highlight the artistic achievements of women in Israel, especially those at the intersection of art, faith, and identity.

Organized in partnership with Emunah’s Appleman College of Art and Technology, the evening will feature an exhibit of student artwork and a panel discussion with female artists, all olot (immigrants to Israel), working across various disciplines. The discussion will examine how living in Israel influences their creative expression and how religious life and artistic practice can complement each other.

Award-winning photojournalist Chen Schimmel will deliver the keynote speech. Since the outbreak of the war on October 7, Schimmel has documented the unfolding tragedy and resilience of the Israeli people - from devastated Kibbutzim and grieving hostage families to frontline combat zones and neighborhoods struck by missiles. Through her photography, she captures the emotional and human aspects of a conflict that continues to shape life in Israel. Her images have become a compelling storytelling tool, resonating with audiences both in Israel and worldwide.

“This event is a celebration of the arts in Israel, and of the women who draw on their personal journeys and the heartbeat of our nation to tell its story,” said Meira Lerner, Director of World Emunah. “Since biblical times, women have been central to shaping Israel’s cultural voice, from Miriam to Leah Goldberg, Naomi Shemer, and beyond. Today, at a pivotal moment in our history, we continue to create, inspire, and lead.”

The Women in the Arts event will take place on Wednesday, July 10, at 6:00 p.m. at the National Campus for Archaeology in Jerusalem. An optional campus tour will be available at 5:00 p.m.
