A 51-year-old Israeli tourist was killed in a motorcycle crash in Thailand on Monday evening.

He was identified by Israeli media as Shai Hanania Pinto, a resident of the northern Israeli moshav Merkaz Omen, though his family has yet to comment.

Two additional vehicles and a passenger van were involved in the crash. Thai authorities have not yet released details about the accident.

ZAKA’s International Division said that due to the severity of the injuries, Pinto's death was pronounced at the scene, and that no other Israelis were involved in the incident.

He had been vacationing with his wife, and the funeral date has not yet been set.

Two other Israelis killed in Thailand since start of 2026

Only two days earlier, St.-Sgt. Rostislav Noam Mirson, 23, a resident of Nahariya who served as a career soldier in the IAF, was laid to rest after he was killed last week in a tragic accident while on vacation in Thailand.

Last month, six Israelis were injured in a road accident near the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai. Yuval Cohen, 23, who was flown back to Israel sedated and on a ventilator in critical condition, died several days later from his injuries.
