The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) announced on Sunday that it would file a criminal complaint with Canadian authorities against Israeli comedian Guy Hochman, ahead of his scheduled performance in Toronto.

The group made the announcement in a post on X/Twitter, describing Hochman as “a war propaganda comedian” who “incites and promotes violence,” and said he was set to appear in Toronto later on Sunday.

HRF, named after a five-year-old Palestinian girl who was killed and became a symbol of the Gaza war, said it has submitted dozens of complaints in roughly 15 countries against IDF personnel.

The organization did not provide details of the specific allegations it intends to file in Canada.

In its X post, HRF called Hochman “war propagandist and inciter,” and accused him of praising Israel’s campaign in Gaza. The post added that Canadian Lawyers for International Human Rights (CLAIHR) would also file a complaint.

“Guy Hochman, a notorious Israeli comedian who glorifies and incites war crimes and genocide, plans to come to Toronto on January 19,” CLAIHR wrote on X.

“We’re working with our valued partners at [Hind Rajab Foundation] to see that he’s stopped at the border or arrested if he does.”

Hochman shared the HRF post and wrote that his Toronto show would be happening as scheduled.

“I’m excited to represent the optimistic Israeli spirit, the Jewish courage, and the IDF soldiers fighting to protect the citizens of the Jewish state,” he wrote.

“Am Yisrael Chai. With pride and a smile.”
