The families of slain hostages Capt. Omer Neutra and St.-Sgt. Oz Daniel asked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu  to return the eight deceased hostages left in Gaza "with the same determination" on Monday night, the Prime Minister's Office said.

"It is being done," Netanyahu told the families, saying that he is "determined to return all the fallen hostages for proper burial."

Netanyahu offered his condolences to the families, and commended Neutra and Daniel's bravery during the fighting on October 7, 2023, stating that their actions will "serve as an inspiration for generations of fighters."

Neutra and Daniel's remains were returned to Israel by Hamas via the Red Cross on Sunday, and identified at the National Institute for Forensic Medicine in Abu Kabir on Monday.

Netanyahu meets with family of Asaf Hamami

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with the family of slain hostage Asaf Hamami, whose remains were returned on Sunday night from Hamas captivity and officially identified on Monday morning.

The prime minister extended his condolences in his name, his wife's name, and on behalf of the entire people of Israel, stating that he "embraces the dear family."

In the meantime, Hamimi's mother, Clara, offered gratitude to the IDF soldiers, the security forces, and the prime minister for the successful return of her son for burial in Israel.

Hamami, who was killed while defending Kibbutz Nirim on October 7, is widely recognized as the first officer to identify and declare the full scale of the invasion to the IDF during the initial moments of the attack with the announcement, “Guys, we’re at war, we’re at war.”
