Police arrested a 77-year-old Hadera resident on suspicion of murder on Friday after Magen David Adom pronounced a 74-year-old man dead, who was found with signs of brutality on his body.
The remains of the 74-year-old man were found at a medical facility in Pardes Hanna.
"When we arrived, we saw the man lying unconscious with injuries to his body. We performed medical examinations, but he showed no signs of life, and we had no choice but to declare his death," an MDA paramedic recalled.
After an investigation was opened, local police officers located the suspect and arrested him for questioning.
Authorities to decide whether to request an extension of his detention
Depending on the investigation's findings and needs, it will be decided at the end of his interrogation whether to request an extension of his detention in court, police said.
