An international company filed a NIS 6 million lawsuit against the Israeli medical technology firm Insightec Ltd., according to a statement released on Thursday.

The lawsuit, totaling NIS 6,418,044, was filed by EKPAC Healthcare Ltd., a foreign company involved in healthcare, industrial services, and fire and rescue technologies, in the Haifa District Court.

The lawsuit alleged that Insightec, which develops, manufactures, and markets medical systems, violated contractual agreements, acted in bad faith, and unjustly benefited at the expense of EKPAC.

According to EKPAC, the lawsuit is supported by evidence, including written correspondence and audio recordings.

EKPAC’s claims $1.6 million loss

The company claimed that evidence shows that Insightec had agreed to a high-value contract for selling advanced ultrasound systems to a hospital in China, worth several million dollars.

However, just before finalizing the deal, Insightec reportedly excluded EKPAC from the project, resulting in the loss of an expected profit of over USD 1.6 million.

EKPAC’s legal team, consisting of attorneys Daphna Fisher and Yaniv Nissenholtz from Dr. Gideon Fisher & Co., stated:

“This is more than just a contractual dispute. It’s about fairness and trust—fundamental values that should govern any international business relationship. It is unacceptable for a business partner to be cut out of a project just before its completion, especially after making significant investments of time and resources."
