US Senator Lindsey Graham confirmed that he will travel to Israel to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "at this crucial time in the history of the Middle East," in a post on X/Twitter on Thursday.
"The Trump-Netanyahu alliance has thus far been one of the strongest partnerships in the history of the US-Israel relationship, and I am hopeful it will pay dividends in the near future," Graham commented.
"The goal is to build on the historic opportunities created by [US President Donald] Trump's unprecedented leadership, to stand up to evil, and to support the people who are sacrificing for freedom," he specified.
"We live in a time of great consequence with the Middle East on the verge of previously unimaginable change," he continued.
"Standing together and following through on our commitments only makes us stronger," he concluded.
Graham threatens Iranian leadership amid height of anti-regime protests
If Iran’s security forces continue killing protesters, Trump would order the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Graham warned in a January 6 Fox News interview.
Graham said Tehran’s leadership should “take Trump seriously,” asserting that continued lethal force against demonstrators would invite direct retaliation at the highest levels.
Graham pointed to Venezuela as a cautionary example for Tehran, calling the US capture of Nicolas Maduro “a prime example of America at her best.” He argued that firm US action in Caracas should signal to Iran’s leaders that Washington will not tolerate lethal crackdowns on protesters.
Graham told reporters that he is supportive of a larger-scale strike, The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday, adding that he hopes the Iranian regime's "days are numbered."
On Monday, he praised fellow Senator John Fetterman for his statements on the ongoing anti-regime protests in Iran.
The endorsement came following an interview Fetterman did with CNN in which the democrat called the regime “poisonous” and “one of the world’s top terrorist underwriters.”
Graham described Fetterman’s statements as "a clear-eyed assessment and a common-sense approach” in a post on X.
Graham additionally endorsed a social media post made by former house speaker Newt Gingrich, who similarly shared his support of anti-regime protestors.
