One man was killed and several others wounded when a shooter entered a Nashua country club and opened fire on Saturday, the New Hampshire Attorney-General’s Office and Nashua Police said in a statement, with reports of eyewitnesses claiming the attacker yelled “free Palestine.”
Hunter Nadeau was arrested and charged with second-degree murder for killing 59-year-old Robert DeCesare with a handgun, the New Hampshire attorney general announced in a press release, but it is expected that further charges will be leveled for additional shooting victims. There is no known connection between the 23-year-old suspect and his victim.

Initial reports that there were two additional shooters who had fled the crime scene were erroneous, with Nashua Police stating on X/Twitter that this had been confirmed by security footage and that there was no further danger to the public. An eyewitness told the Associated Press that there was a wedding occurring at the Sky Meadow Country Club, and the shooter had allegedly said, “The children are safe” and “Free Palestine.”
Aspects of the case, such as motive, were still being investigated, according to Senior Assistant Attorney-General Peter Hinckley.
Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess praised the police and expressed his sympathy for the families of those murdered and wounded.
“This truly can happen anywhere,” Donchess said on Facebook. New Hampshire Rep. Maggie Goodlander said on social media that she was monitoring the situation as more information was revealed and that her heart was with the victims.
