The Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) on Thursday said it is preparing for possible increases in outages and infrastructure damage over the weekend amid worsening weather conditions.
It has mobilized additional repair workers across Israel and reinforcements for its hotline, it said.
The IEC requested that the public report any electrical outages or other issues and to stay away from downed power lines.
It also recommended that people who use life-saving electronic devices should be prepared with backup batteries in case of an extended power outage.
Magen David Adom said it was preparing for the possibility of weather-related disruptions. Ambulances, four-wheel-drive vehicles, all-terrain vehicles, and specialized Unimog vehicles had been deployed in case of flooding, it said.
The Israel Police said it would be prepared to provide optimal service to citizens in the event of mass flooding or other weather-related incidents.
The police called on the public to drive carefully and remain aware of weather reports and risks.
Election Day rain leads to flooding, vote disruption
Last week, heavy rainfall on Election Day created dangerous conditions and led to flooding in the South.
In Beersheba, parking lots and shopping malls were flooded, and several traffic lights stopped working.
Power outages caused by the weather also disrupted voting in Meitar, northeast of Beersheba, causing a polling station to be temporarily closed.
