How many times have you booked a hotel night, paid good money – and discovered that in practice you enjoy the room for less than 20 hours? In most hotels in Israel – and worldwide – check-in usually ranges between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM, while check-out is typically around 11:00 AM. This means you arrive at noon, wait for your room, and the next day you have to pack early. Now, one hotel in Jerusalem is trying to break this convention.
A full 24 hours of vacation?
The Theater Hotel Jerusalem is launching a new midweek vacation package centered on early check-in and late check-out – available in advance and subject to availability. The idea is simple: Allow guests to start their vacation in the morning, without “wasting” half a day waiting.
The package, aimed at couples from Sunday to Wednesday, includes two breakfasts – one on the day of arrival and one on the day of departure – a bottle of wine in the room, 10% off spa treatments, free parking (subject to availability), and unlimited access to hotel facilities. Price: Starting at NIS 1,390 per couple midweek.
If the room is not ready upon arrival, guests can leave their luggage and use the pool, gym, and facilities until the room is available – and even after check-out on the departure day.
A new trend or a one-off initiative?
In the international hotel industry, more and more “Day Use” or flexible 24-hour packages have appeared in recent years, but the model is still rare in Israel. Most hotels continue to operate on strict time windows, mainly due to operational and cleaning demands between guests. The Theater Hotel’s initiative may test whether there is genuine demand for a shift in perception: Fewer calendar nights – and more full-time experiences.
