The streaming revolution in Israel is moving up a level: Warner Bros. Discovery officially announced that the global streaming service HBO Max will launch in Israel as a standalone service on January 13, 2026. The move is part of the brand’s global expansion, which already operates in more than 100 markets worldwide, and will allow local audiences direct access to the content catalog of HBO, Warner studios, DC, and additional entertainment brands under one roof.
With the launch of the service, viewers in Israel will be able to watch HBO flagship series including “House of the Dragon,” “The White Lotus,” “Euphoria,” and “The Last of Us,” alongside new original productions and successful feature films such as “Dune,” “Batman,” and the “Harry Potter” film series. Jamie Cook, the corporation’s regional operations manager, noted that bringing the service to Israel stems from identifying the local market as an engaged audience drawn to quality storytelling and large-scale international productions.
The service will be offered in two main subscription plans: A standard plan priced at NIS 49.90 per month, allowing viewing on two devices simultaneously in HD quality, and a premium plan priced at NIS 64.90 per month, offering viewing on four devices in 4K Ultra HD quality and a broader option for downloading content. In addition, an option to add sports content to the basic plan will be offered at an additional cost of NIS 20. Beyond direct purchase, the service is also expected to be available through selected television providers in Israel.
From a technological perspective, the app will support a wide range of devices, including smart TVs, streamers, gaming consoles, and mobile phones. Users will be able to set up to five personal profiles, including personalized viewing recommendations and detailed parental controls for children’s profiles. As of the third quarter of 2025, HBO Max has approximately 128 million subscribers worldwide, and its entry into Israel marks another step in cementing its position as a significant competitor in the local streaming market.
