A new collaboration in the Israeli aviation sector now allows purchasing flights and vacation packages abroad on the Arkia website through BUYME, via a technological partnership with the fintech company Hyp.
The new service allows customers to pay with BUYME vouchers as a full payment method on the company's website for all types of bookings and services: Flights, vacation packages, hotels, baggage purchase, seating, upgrades, and additional services. The service is available for any purchase on the Arkia website.
Hyp, the company operating Arkia’s payment system, enabled the integration of gift vouchers into the existing payment setup. This is a first-of-its-kind initiative in the Israeli aviation industry, aimed at expanding payment options and adapting them to the changing consumption habits of customers.
Einat Yunger Carmeli, Arkia’s Chief Marketing Officer: "This is an important collaboration that truly benefits Arkia’s customers and allows them to easily use their vouchers for a flight and vacation experience. According to various estimates, millions of shekels in vouchers in Israel go unused, so this is an excellent and convenient opportunity to redeem them when booking a vacation."
"Much more than a technical step"
Sharon Rippa, VP of Business Development and Partnerships at BUYME: "For us, this is much more than a technical step at the payment stage. The collaboration with Arkia creates a new user experience for Israeli consumers and expands the value of BUYME into exciting new areas: Flights, vacations, and cross-continental experiences."
Kfir Edri, VP of Strategic Clients at Hyp: "The use of gift vouchers, especially those given as gifts to employees or family members, is growing in online purchases. Integrating this option directly into the payment process on the website creates a seamless and immediate purchasing experience for the customer and simplifies the process for them."
