There’s something special about the Golan in autumn. The air cools, the vegetation comes back to life, and the trails become perfect for a family hike. One of the most recommended routes in the area is the Sa’ar Stream Trail — about 3.2 magical kilometers of northern nature, moderately challenging, flowing between the villages of Nimrod and Ein Qiniyye.
The trail begins at the Sa’ar Waterfall parking lot, near Route 99 between Sa’ar Waterfall and Ein Qiniyye by the Bridge of Friendship, and ends at a beautiful lookout over the stream. Important to know: This is a linear trail, so you’ll need one car at the starting point and another at the endpoint.
Along the way, the paths wind beside stunning basalt cliffs, wooden bridges, and lush green scenery, with impressive viewpoints overlooking the Sa’ar Waterfall itself, especially during the rainy season. Even on the calm autumn days, there’s much to see and admire in nature. The walk takes about an hour and a half, and on clear days, you can spot the Hermon peaks from the start of the trail.
The area itself, at the foot of Mount Hermon and more than 1,200 meters above sea level, offers a perfect combination of nature and tranquility.
