Samsung continues to try and reshape the foldable device market, with reports of a revolutionary new model – the Galaxy Z TriFold (also called the Galaxy G Fold). According to a new leak on the Chinese social network Weibo, the company will unveil the device at the Galaxy Unpacked event expected to take place in South Korea on September 29.

The Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to come with a unique triple-fold design, based on two hinges that allow the screen to fold in two directions. In practice, the device folds only twice, which is why some leakers note that the name “TriFold” may be misleading. The device is supposed to offer an innovative user experience, but the price matches: Previous leaks indicate a price tag that may exceed 4 million Korean won (about $2,930). The device will be launched initially only in South Korea and China, and it is not clear if and when it will reach additional markets.

In addition to the foldable smartphone, Samsung plans to present at the event Project Moohan – an XR headset that may be rebranded as “Galaxy XR.” Its price is expected to range between 2.5 and 4 million won (about $1,800–$2,000), and it is indeed intended for international markets, but the global distribution may be delayed after the local launch in Korea, which is scheduled for October 13.

The surprise of the event may be the unveiling of Galaxy Glasses – smart AI glasses inspired by the Ray-Ban Meta. According to previous reports, the launch was expected only in 2026, but Samsung may choose to present a teaser already this year, as it sometimes does with new products. If the announcements do indeed take place on September 29, this would be a significant event for Samsung, marking its path to the next stage in the worlds of mobile, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence.
