Arkia Airlines is expanding its international destinations map and announced that it will return to operating direct flights to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. This is a new destination added to the list of popular and beloved destinations for the Israeli public. Currently, only El Al flies directly to Lisbon, and this marks additional competition for the company, after Arkia announced it will fly to Bangkok, a route that for years was exclusive to El Al.
As part of the new route, the company will operate two weekly flights on Mondays and Fridays, from October until January. The price of a round-trip ticket to Lisbon will start from $599.
"The company is attentive to the needs of the public"
According to Arkia, Lisbon has in recent years become one of the most loved and popular destinations among the Israeli public. The city combines rich culture, fascinating history, and vibrant nightlife. Pleasant weather, proximity to breathtaking beaches, and Portugal’s famous wine regions make it an attractive destination for a wide range of audiences: Families, couples, and young travelers.
“I am pleased to announce that Arkia is returning to operate direct flights to Lisbon – a very attractive and much-loved destination among Israelis in recent years,” said Oz Berlowitz, CEO of Arkia. “The company is attentive to the needs of the public and the level of demand, and the opening of the new route joins the destinations we have recently launched: Thailand and Vietnam, alongside London and Munich. Arkia is constantly in an ongoing process of expanding its operations, with a keen ear to the demands of the Israeli public, aiming to offer more options, more availability, and more great experiences for our customers.”
