Will technology replace the practice of parents sending their children to summer school during the summer vacation to improve their English before the upcoming school year? Novakid believes that for many parents, the answer is yes.
Novakid, a leading online learning platform for teaching English to children and teenagers aged 4 to 17, offers children and teenagers from Israel the opportunity to participate in an international speaking group initiative that includes virtual group lessons for practicing spoken English together with children from 50 countries. Novakid divides the children into groups of four to six students from different countries, who converse with each other in English under the guidance of a certified teacher and also participate in games and other enjoyable activities. The lessons, tailored to three age groups: 4-6, 7-10, and 10-13, according to their English levels, are intended to boost the confidence of children and teenagers in their ability to improve their skills and use of the English language in a fun atmosphere. The small number of participants in each group helps each participant communicate confidently with the other group members.
During the virtual meeting, the teacher presents the students with story slides and encourages and guides them to converse with each other in English about the presented content, to demonstrate their creativity and imagination, and even to make new friends.
Novakid’s international speaking group initiative, first launched in September 2024, is based on the concept that conversation in English is one of the most effective ways to quickly improve students’ language proficiency and ability to speak fluently. Daily use of the language makes it easier for people to learn it, and interaction with others, listening to others, and practicing conversation are essential. This approach is shared by 48% of parents who expressed their desire to add English-speaking practice hours for their children.
According to research conducted by Novakid in 2024, 47% of parents surveyed in Israel wanted their children to have more opportunities to practice. Based on such data, a program was launched for practicing English through group lessons with up to six students from different countries around the world. Since 2024, 65,000 group speaking lessons have already been held worldwide, and in the first year alone, 6,500 students from Israel participated.
Max Azarov, co-founder and CEO of Novakid: “Our concept is about building a global community of children and teenagers who focus on learning English and forming deep and meaningful connections with peers from different cultures and countries around the world. These meetings provide students with opportunities to connect, learn, engage, and succeed.” Azarov added: “We enjoy seeing students having fun in the lessons, participating in conversations, and gaining a deep, long-term understanding of the English language. They ask questions, share opinions, and bring the language to life.”
Another concept implemented by Novakid’s founders is the enjoyment of learning, in light of their desire for children to learn English in a fun and supportive atmosphere. Therefore, they have created a space that provides exactly such an environment for tens of thousands of children around the world.
Max Azarov: “Novakid’s activity focuses on enjoyment, building connections, and educational innovation, but we strive to make the studies accessible to all and at affordable prices. Therefore, the schedule is flexible, payments can be made in convenient monthly installments, and all the teachers in the international groups are native English speakers.”
