The Local Committee for Planning and Building in Nahariya has conditionally approved the plan by Shoval Group to build a hotel on the Akhziv-Nahariya beach. The hotel will include 93 guest rooms on eight floors above ground, a café, a pool, a synagogue, an event hall, treatment rooms, and more.
The hotel will be built next to one of the most beautiful beaches in Israel, dotted with lagoons and adjacent to the Akhziv nature reserve. The hotel will be located in the new Akhziv neighborhood, which is in the final stages of occupancy. According to Yishai Roth, Deputy CEO of Shoval Group, "In recent years, Akhziv Beach has become a tourist and leisure destination. However, aside from guest rooms and camping, there are still no hotels north of Nahariya, and our hotel is expected to be one of the first to be built north of Nahariya, with construction expected to begin in 2026. Shoval’s construction company will be responsible for building the hotel, and we intend to bring in an operator from the hotel industry to manage it."
A design that incorporates environmental innovation
According to the hotel’s architects, Tabony Architects, the façade of the building draws inspiration from traditional mashrabiya, but is designed using advanced digital tools as a shading element that combines aesthetics, ventilation, and privacy. The design integrates environmental innovation – climate-adapted planning, use of soft materials, and sustainability solutions – to create a serene, refined guest experience that suits diverse audiences.
The curved shapes and soft materials create a sense of calm and comfort throughout the hotel. The impressive entrance lobby features double-height glass walls that bring in natural light and convey a sense of openness and luxury. The direct connection between the lobby and the minimalist, clean-designed outdoor pool area allows for a smooth, inviting transition between the indoor spaces and the external landscape. The hotel's public areas emphasize its iconic form and contribute to an open, modern, and welcoming atmosphere. The hotel is surrounded by natural, blooming greenery, with winding paths that lead guests to moments of tranquility and discovery.
Modern design on the seashore
According to Roth, “We believe in the Western Galilee as a hub for living, employment, and leisure thanks to its accessibility to the center of the country, its coastline, and the combination of historic cities and a diverse population that offers rich cultural variety. That’s why in recent years we’ve focused much of the company’s resources in the Western Galilee. Among other projects, we are building the Tzameret Acre Park residential complex in the new Shaarei Akko neighborhood adjacent to Kibbutz Shomrat.”
The hotel’s design and planning was entrusted to the office of architect Dr. Tabony. According to Dr. Aiman Tabony, the hotel’s design aims to create a holistic experience that seeks not only to provide accommodation – but also to create a sense of place, belonging, and peace of mind. Akhziv Hotel offers a modern design vision on the seashore, with a flowing architectural language that includes soft lines, terraced balconies, and wide openings facing the sea view. Each floor is slightly recessed, creating spacious double-height balconies that enhance the guest experience and allow families to enjoy breathtaking views in their own private space.
