The new luxury hotel in Jerusalem, the Theatron Hotel, opened to the general public. It is a five-star deluxe boutique hotel, owned by the Jerusalem-based Hassid family of businessmen, and is part of the MGallery brand collection of the French Accor group.
The Theatron Hotel is located at the junction of three of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Jerusalem – Talbiya, the German Colony, and Old Katamon. It is ideally situated along the "Cultural Kilometer" – an artistic hub of entertainment, restaurants, and unique cafés, alongside bicycle paths. The Theatron Hotel is the perfect blend of culture, comfort, and tranquility. It is nestled in a quiet corner of the city’s vibrant center, overlooking a grove of pine trees with a panoramic view of southern Jerusalem, and surrounded by restored stone villas, lush greenery, cultural centers, and iconic landmarks.
The Theatron Hotel was designed by Feigin Architects, a leading architectural design studio with 55 years of experience in the global hospitality industry. The firm specializes in projects that combine hotels and luxury residential buildings. For this project, Feigin designed the hotel's facades and residential units to include geometric elements and dynamic materials, combining stone and bronze aluminum to correspond with the façade of the Jerusalem Theatron, which is located across the pedestrian bridge on Chopin Street.
The interior design of the hotel was led by interior designer Ari Shaltiel, who was responsible for the elegant ambiance of the Theatron Hotel. The hotel's design concept is classic-modern, incorporating a monochromatic palette of brown and gold shades that resonate with Jerusalem’s spiritual and mysterious atmosphere. In the public spaces, natural stone cladding with a rough texture contrasts with the modern, clean, and polished look – creating an authentic impression that emphasizes the connection to Jerusalem and blends with the surrounding rocks and greenery.
According to Ari Shaltiel: "The hotel was designed with a unique concept, combining a luxurious yet authentic look, in an elegant design characterized by classic Jerusalem lines. The lobby is styled like a private living room, combining natural stone with clean design in shades of white, gold, and brown, evoking a calm and serene atmosphere. The hotel façade corresponds with the façade of the Jerusalem Theatron across the street."
The hotel includes 73 rooms, including 3 suites, deluxe rooms, and superior rooms. All rooms are fully designed and equipped down to the last detail to provide a luxurious hospitality experience. The hotel features a gourmet chef restaurant, a modernly designed bar, meeting rooms, a wine room, and private seating areas scattered throughout the hotel.
The spa area includes a heated swimming pool for adults and a children's pool, dry saunas for men and women, and a fitness center. The luxurious spa offers beauty treatments by the international brand Clarins, along with holistic massage treatments using plant-based therapeutic formulas. After treatments, guests are invited to relax in a pampering lounge with hot drinks and light refreshments.
Additionally, the hotel includes a synagogue, a luxurious lobby, halls for private or business events, and a secure, standard-protected safe room.
According to Irit Daniel, CEO of the Theatron Hotel: "Our vision was to create a hotel whose design resonates with Jerusalem, combining international luxury standards with rich cultural heritage and the charm of Jerusalem. There is no other hotel in Israel that offers such a unique location at the heart of Jerusalem’s most beautiful neighborhood, near the city’s major cultural institutions: the Jerusalem Theatron, Hansen House, the Museum of Islamic Art, and the President's Residence. A rare blend of pastoral tranquility above a grove of trees, within walking distance of the city center, Emek Refaim, the First Station complex, culinary abundance, cultural variety, and entertainment options."
