According to some commentators, this is indeed true. Many people believe it but will not publicly mention this opinion of theirs. Here are some who unequivocally articulate this viewpoint.
For example, states Andrew Anglin: “Of the 26 cabinet positions listed on WhiteHouse.gov, nine of them are [held by] Jews. This is 35% of the cabinet. Jews are 2% of the US population, so they are overrepresented in this government by 17x.” According to Al Jazeera: “The Israeli lobby in the US managed to infiltrate all aspects of government, thus formulating US policy directly.” Ramzy Baroud mentioned the following; “The Zionists managed to largely silence all debate on Israel in the US, and despite stubborn attempts to break Israel’s stronghold on Zionist control over the Palestine and Middle East narrative in US media, government and society as a whole, Israel continues to maintain the upper hand, as it has for decades.”
Opined Minister Louis Farrakhan: “The Jews have control over those agencies of government. When you want something in this world, the Jew holds the door.” And in the view of James Petras: “Obama’s nomination of Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court marks a continuation and deepening of the lopsided ethno-religious representation in the US judicial system. If Garland is appointed, Jewish justices will comprise 45% of the Supreme Court, even though they represent less than 2% of the overall population.”
Do the Jews control Hollywood?
Well, “control” may be too strong a word, but great influence cannot be denied, at least insofar as disproportionate numbers of us have taken on high-profile roles in that industry. Ditto for academia, banking, journalism, jewelry, and much more.
But do the People of the Book likewise and in similar manner heavily impact the decisions of the United States government? It is much more difficult to make this case, despite some of the aforementioned comments and statistics. The Biden–Harris administration forbade the Israeli army from attacking Iranian nuclear facilities and oil fields, and made that order stick. It insisted that the IDF loosen its blockade over Gaza. That it not enter this territory in the first place and that it stay away from Rafah. Here, it did not succeed; however, it did slow down these initiatives. But the mere fact that it could issue such orders undermines the claim of almost total Jewish sway. What threat did the Democrats hold over Israel? A slowdown or even cessation of military material shipments long ago promised and contracted for.
The US government enthusiastically and unambiguously supports Israel’s purely defensive apparatus: the Iron Dome, The Arrow, and David’s Sling. One may be excused for thinking that if Biden and Harris had their way, Jerusalem would almost only be allowed to defend itself in such a manner, not to bring the war to its enemies. Yes, Israel upon occasion is allowed to attack Iran but is encouraged to “take the win” lest the war, God forbid, be escalated. Upon occasion, one wonders whether Biden is confused and thinks he is the prime minister of Israel, not the president of the United States.
Pursuing this policy of strong defense but timidity of attempting full victory is, of course, to invite one, two, many repetitions of October 7, 2023. That is no way to run a railroad, let alone function as a sovereign nation. How would Biden, Harris feel if Canada and Mexico, to say nothing of Russia and China, were to do to his country what Hamas did to Israel on that day of infamy, and he was ordered to confine his reaction to mainly defensive measures? No oil fields and nuclear capacity, indeed.
This stance of the US vis-à-vis Israel is hardly compatible with Jewish power, unless it is wielded by Jewish Voice for Peace, an anti-Zionist Jewish organization.
On the face of it, the case for heavy Jewish influence on the US government is difficult to make, if not outright preposterous. The chosen people comprise only a minuscule portion of the electorate (but not, of course, funding). The voting pattern of this group has been traditionally overwhelmingly in support of the Democratic Party. If they wanted to maximize their influence, Jewish Americans would not be almost entirely in the pocket of either party. Rather, they would play one off against the other.
In addition, we Jews are a contentious lot, always and continually disagreeing with one another. The Orthodox and the Reform segments of this group, for all intents and purposes, might as well belong to different religions entirely. Woody Allen in his movie Annie Hall illustrated this beautifully. At the Christian family dinner party, politeness and serenity were the order of the day. In the Jewish counterpart, they were all arguing, yelling at each other, interrupting one another. Bedlam ensued. It would appear to be difficult to run anything, let alone a country the size of the US, on the part of such a disunited group such as its Jewish population.
Yes, individually, members of this faith do quite well in banking, Hollywood, academia, medicine, law, etc. But to heavily impact the US, they would have to be quite a bit more united than we actually are at present.
Here is one more bit of evidence concerning disunity. Before the Hamas pogrom of 2023, Israel was not engaging in a civil war. That would be too extreme a way to describe what was taking place in that country. However, there were massive protests engaged in not by tens of thousands of citizens but by hundreds of thousands of them, maybe even millions all together, in a country of less than 10 million.
The issue under contention? The attempt on the part of the Likud Party to render the Israeli Supreme Court more along the lines of the US. There, the judges could not permanently replicate themselves upon a vacancy on the bench. Military officers were threatening not to engage in (relative) peacetime maneuvers as part of this protest. Only October 7 could unite them. (By the way, those massive demonstrations may well have emboldened Hamas to undertake its despicable acts of that day.)
No, contentious disunited Jewry does not control the US government.
It cannot be denied that of all US foreign aid (apologies to Peter Bauer), Israel accounts for the single largest grant of any country on the planet ($3.3 billion annually). That is a point in favor of this hypothesis. On the other hand, when you add up all the government to government transfers of funds and material given by America to the enemies of Israel, the total is far larger ($7.6 billion). This surely counts as a very strong point against.■
