US President Donald Trump said that his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., is engaged to Bettina Anderson, a Palm Beach socialite, the New York Times reported late on Monday.

According to the newspaper, Trump made the announcement at a White House holiday party. Reuters could not immediately reach a representative for Donald Trump Jr.

This is the third time Donald Trump Jr. has been engaged. He was previously married to Vanessa, a former model and actress, for 12 years and the couple has five children together. Vanessa filed for a divorce in 2018. He was later engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle, a US television personality.

Media reports suggest that Trump Jr. and Anderson have been dating for about a year and had traveled to India's Udaipur to attend a wedding celebration last month.

The announcement comes amid a period in which Trump has spoken publicly about his family on the world stage.

Previously, in October, Trump praised his daughter Ivanka Trump for her love of Israel, which he said led to her conversion to Judaism, while delivering a speech at the Knesset on Monday, where he was being celebrated for his central role in seeing the return of the hostages.

Kushner played a key role in ending Gaza war

Ivanka, who accompanied her father and husband to Israel, converted to Judaism prior to marrying Jared Kushner in 2009. Kushner has also played a key role in ending the war in Gaza and securing the release of the hostages, for which he was thanked in Trump’s speech, along with his role in establishing the Abraham Accords.

“Let me also give a special thanks to someone who truly loves Israel, in fact, loves it so much that…my daughter converted [to Judaism],” Trump said. “I didn’t know this was going to happen…and Bibi, you do know this wasn’t in the cards for me, you do understand that."
