The IDF has opened an investigation into the West Bank operation during which a seven-month-old Palestinian baby was killed, the military confirmed on Sunday.
The operation took place on Friday, the military said in an initial statement on Saturday.
Soldier fired at the car accelerating toward him
Three Palestinians were wounded during military operations near Hebron after a soldier fired upon a vehicle accelerating towards him and other soldiers.
One of those in the vehicle was the seven-month-old baby.
The baby's grandmother told Reuters that the family was driving near a checkpoint when they saw IDF vehicles and soldiers in the distance and stopped the car, initially believing that the shots fired were warning shots.
"One bullet struck my grandson, traversed his face and crossed his head, striking his mother's cheek where it lodged," she said.
